Coffeeshop Millionaire – Really?

Coffeeshop Millionaire – Really?

Hello Readers-

I saw what began as one of the slickest presentations ever, and realized that in the best interests of my readers I should ‘take the plunge’ and buy it to report my responses with some basis in firsthand experience.

I listened to the pitch and then wasted about an hour listening to the promos for upsells ‘shimmying’ from $297 to $147, plus another $197 for coaching.  Yeah, coaching on how to be a ‘shmuck’ (pardon my N.Y. slang),  Ryan Deiss’s and Mike Filsaime’s praise notwithstanding.

This has all the earmarks of a scam- get in and get out-Fast!  I should’ve seen it coming with the ‘sportscar’ (above).

Thing is, I had already paid $37 (ok, reduced to $27-another gimmick taught in ‘Slick Marketing University’), – and yet, without buying the upsells, I never got a username or password;  my given email was Not recognized as being in the database- in other words…
a Total WASTE OF TIME!

I owe a sincere ‘Thanks’ to  http://madimmarketing .com  for some other ‘real’ reactions which you can see on their site. I advise all those curious to check it out.  I included their introduction here for those only marginally interested.
To Our Mutual Success

Steve

SEO-Flawed?-Shocking!

SEO-Flawed?-Shocking!

I’m not sure exactly when I got on Shane Melaugh’s mailing list, maybe it was as I hunted for a proper review of Backlinks Hydra,(was that Terry Kyle?)

Anyway, the tone of the report was so remarkably unbiased; it enumerated the virtues of the SEO product, while at the same time admonishing marketers with less than extensive experience that the complexity of the information included might exceed their ability to implement.  It had been perhaps the first totally ‘honest’ SEO related review I’d come across.

So I wasn’t entirely surprised to get an explanation of SEO principles in a message from Shane which literally turned the concept ‘on its head’!

The Whole Truth About DOE

The Whole Truth About DOE

I first heard about the Directory of Ezines about a year ago when I participated (for a limited time), in the 48-Hour Cash Club.  The promoter of that offer, a ‘high-powered’ marketer named Vick S, who went on to form The Global Success Club, (incidentally that organization indirectly inspired the title of this site), raved about the DOE, calling it his ‘secret ninja tool’.

Ninjas are cool. Somehow though, I just can’t picture Charlie Page in black pyjamas with a blowgun. While he may not be a ninja, Charlie Page seems to have what amounts to a ‘black belt’ in ’overdlivering,’ taking personal calls from subscribers, and answering all email pertaining to all areas of marketing.

Another review of the DOE described it pretty succinctly, pointing out that marketers of any level of experience have one thing in common-the need for buyers. How then is the task of attracting customers, let’s say, for affiliate offers, accomplished? The point is to reach a targeted audience which is actually looking for the product being promoted. This is a fair bit easier to say than to do. Enter the Directory of Ezines.

Apparently, Charlie Page was initially a subscriber who finally was sufficiently impressed by the business to buy it eighteen months after having joined. I have been a member for a few months and I can easily see the wisdom in his decision.

Choosing an ezine in which to advertise based on the interests of its readership makes good sense, indeed. Before describing my own (limited) experiences with the DOE, I must say that while there is great potential implied in purchasing a (lifetime) membership, it is, after all, only a tool. The strategies employed, and the effort made, must be your own. I have yet to call Charlie-mostly because I live halfway around the world, in Thailand, but I have emailed him, and he’s responded every time. Apparently, using this asset to its best advantage is something I could learn to do better.

I made my first online sale, having placed two solo ads in an ezine with some worthwhile articles and about 25,000 readers, at a cost of $50.00. I was ecstatic. Unfortunately, I only collected $35.00 on the sale-but a positive ‘seed’ was sown.

Some other remarks I read about the DOE indicated that if a marketer achieved a click through rate with conversions within a standard range, he’d earn $10.00 for every dollar he invested in his ads. Organizing one’s efforts, it seems, there is a far better chance of coming out ahead. This individual also mentioned the advantage of actualy being able to phone Charlie for helpful advice. The price of membership is $197.00 for life. It’s a’chunk-o’-change’, to be sure. If you’re committed to pursuing creating an income from home, though, having an ‘expert on call’ can be very reassuring.
